The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) program at McMaster University is known nationally for its unique problem-based approach to learning and emphasis on both experimental and theoretical work. Although a successfully completed degree in this program is useful for pursuing many careers, a large majority of students in this program find themselves beginning their journey in medical school upon graduation, making entry into this program both highly desirable yet competitive.
While most Canadian schools are predominantly focused on the "top 6" average of a student, McMaster's Bachelor of Health Science takes an admissions approach that is highly reminiscent of US colleges. While the official program boasts a 90 percent average cut-off, it has been gathered by current students and recent graduates that the actual cut-off hovers in the 91 percent range. Any score above or at this range is considered equally, and the remainder of the application decision is based entirely on the grading of the supplementary essays. These supplementary essays are graded on a scale of 1-7, and are the single deciding factor to an individual's application once the cut-off range is met. Only when the written applications of two candidates are considered wholly equal are grades considered once more in the decision-making process.
Our McMaster Health Sciences application service provides our clients with a unique opportunity to work with a student currently enrolled in the program in order to improve the quality of the applicant's supplementary essays. In addition, Base 15 has past accepted essays that illustrate the qualities that admissions seeks in the essays. If you decide to work with us, you will have an opportunity to work with a personal consultant whose sole goal is to help you gain acceptance into this program by improving the word choice, idea generation, grammar, and overall quality of your supplementary essays.Register Now
